Tool makers can pay to be listed or featured. A paid placement buys visibility — a position in a category or on the homepage. It does not buy a score, a favourable review, or the removal of criticism. Every review states what a tool is bad at, including paid ones.

Why that distinction matters

If money could buy a rating here, a recommendation would be worth nothing to readers — and a directory readers do not trust is worth nothing to advertisers either. Keeping those two things separate is the only thing that makes the site useful.
